Nope. 82 Scirocco's didnt get one.

Its gonna be the external pump making the noise but that doesnt mean 
its going bad. The cold can be transfering more vibrations to the 
chassis. Check the little rubber mounts on the pump and see if they're 
even there. Sometimes they disintegrate and thats what causes the 
noises. I
f they are still there, sometimes just changing there can fix it too. 
As long as its still working it cant be that bad, mines actually 
leaking a little bit and im not gonna replace it until it either stops 
working or leaks alot more than it is.
