RE: 1986 16V? Strange Differences

I don't really know for sure where all Sciroccos were manufactured; I was
under the impression that they were all from Germany but could be wrong.

Field 11 on your Vin number should be "K".  This designates the plant of 
manufacture.  "K" is for the Osnabrueck facility.  I know Sciroccos and 
Corrados were built here.  Rest of the codes:

A  = Ingolstdt
B = Brussels
E = Emden
G = Gratz
H = Hannover
M = Mexico
P = Brazil
S = Stuttgart
V = Westmoreland
W = Wolfsburg
Y = Pamploma Spain
