Odd Noise on Passat

Not a Scirocco, but its a wana be :) Its the 96 Passat VR6.I hear a clicking at low speed. The rate is speed dependant. It sounds like its coming from the DS front wheel.At speeds >30 it starts to be come a vibration that can be felt in the steering. On accelleration its smoother, on idle it can be felt, it diminishes turning left, but returns on driving straight, it worsens turning right, decelleration is bad.Tire pressures are correct.I replaced the front pads on the brakes on sunday, no problem then, nor yesterday. This morning was a shock.I checked to see if the tire was loose by pushing on the top of the tire with my foot. No movement. I tried grabbing the tire at 9 & 3 and turning it. Nothing there it seems. The tire IS a 215/50/15 that needs replacement (tires are here already). No lead weights seem to be missing.Any ideas welcomed!TIA guys
