Also, are you familiar with the Special Catalogs section of ETKA?
It lists all the contacts and connector bodies used although there is no
cross reference to where they're used so you need to select based on the
sketches and the occasion part number that crops up in the Main Group 9,
Electrical systems.

Actually, there -is- a *cross-reference* in ETKA, even in Special
Catalogues.  Say you have found a part number for X and such, and you are
curious what cars it can be found on.  Go to the button near the top of the
screen that looks like a sheet of paper with lines on it, click it.  Next,
go down to 'ATP', and type in the number.  Next, specify which brand you
want to search under, Audi or VW.  You may also have the chance to limit
your search to the vehicle you are currently looking at, or you can broaden
your search to the entire brand, and hit 'OK'.  Bang, you have a list of
vehicles that -should- have that part on it.  There are a few small hang-ups
that can come after that, but this will work in at least 90% of the cases.
