My 16V doesn't like to accelerate...



Yeah, what Gordy said.  Check the roller underneath the fuel distributor.  I
had one that froze for one reason or another and gave me a stuttering,
almost pulsating effect at those same lower RPMs.  We changed Fuel
distributors, fuel pumps,  did several pressure tests all in vain.  We had
no idea that just the air box could give so much grief.  This was on my 8
valve.

I did also have a problem with my 16 valve that was very much the opposite,
it was fine up to about 2500 - 3000 Rs and then would bog, stutter,
hesitate, but eventually cleared up on it's own.  I always suspected
something with the purity of the fuel lines and filter.  Maybe letting the
tank level get too low, not sure.  It cleared itself up for several months
and suddenly returned, pissed me off some more, and re-disappeared to never
bother me again.

Just to make sure you're not running in "limp home mode", check all of your
connections to the components that matter; coolant temp sensor, throttle
switches, it can't hurt.
