Quick Questions for the Racer

I've never used them on a VW but EBC "green stuff" pads worked great on my Camaro. It had slotted and x-drilled 11" rotors on all 4 corners with dual piston calipers on the front, and with EBC's it stopped like a Porsche. (that's the ONLY thing it did similar to a Porsche....) With the heat cycling of auto-x I would be inclined to try the "red stuff" as they are supposedly better at handling the heat of mild track use. I plan on running Reds on my Rocco eventually. The wear and dust control of the Greens were VERY good, but I also never auto-x'ed the Camaro. Price is good on them too.

Subject: Quick Questions for the Racer

Some of you might remember an email a few months back about me setting up
this 86 8v Scirocco as an Auto-x car on a very limited budget.. Well that
project been set aside because I've been working my ass of on my 85 trying
to get it ready for Cincy...

Well the schedule has just been posted and it looks like the season opener
is April 15... So I'm hoping to be able to get the car ready for that...
With the two local Auto-x clubs in my area it looks like I should be able to
run at least 16 event as long as eveything hold up okay...

The car has some suspension work done to it... A good aftermarket strut,
paired with Nuespeed Race Springs... Poly bushing everywhere up front out
back..
The motor is mainly stock... 8v header (no name unit) with a stock 16v
exhaust...
10.1 brakes up front, and the 8.9 rear disk out back...

Alright here is the class I'll be shooting for STS... I've got around
$400-500 to spend so any information would be great...

What would be a good tire to run on a 14" rim? Probably going to stick with
the snowflakes...

What brake pad would work best with the standard 10.1 vented rotor?

What will work best as far as alignment goes?
