axle stuck to transmission



In my case, all of the inner CV bolts are on, the outer nut is still on
because I wasn't planning on pulling the whole axle off.  I did "loosen the
clamping bolt which holds the control arm ball joint to the wheel bearing
housing, and remove ball joint from the housing" which helped give me more
area to pull, but the inner CV joint just starts to separate.  I decided to
pull anyways, but it doesn't make any progress.  I wonder what would cause
this - I've done axles several of times and never had a problem pulling them
off before.
