Karl's new '81

Hi List,
    I asked Nate to post earlier as my internet access at home is down for 
some reason...

    I wanted to thank everyone who sent helpful advice and suggestions while 
we (Nate) was whipping the car into shape for the upcoming roadtrip, and 
also those who graciously gave me contact info and offered to help in case 
of breakdowns along the way.

    I am using a borrowed Net connection and have very little time, so I'll 
have to post details of the trip in a few days.

    For now, very quickly: '81 Scirocco 8v, mpg roughly 33-35 at 78-85 mph 
for a thousand miles.

    I knew there was a reason I'm addicted to these cars...
