help with Fuel hose going from filler neck to tank

Let's have someone slice a half inch off a rad hose and toss it into a 
peanut butter jar with gas in it.  Somebody must be bored, right?

It will bloat like an American SUV and leech black blood into the 
solvent.  It will look like Mick Jagger with nigger lips only black.  It 
may be OK for a bit if you don't fill the tank up all the way but is not 
permanent or advisable.
