I went to a second High School 79-80 and hung around
with a guy two years my junior the second year there
(lack of suitably aged candidates, (plus he was a
decent cat).

His other main dude had one of those bug/camper
thingies; it was pretty cool to know you didn't need
to worry about being watched while you made out in the
damn thing. You just parked & pulled the curtain. ;])

Main drawback though is it's inherent tipsiness, that
and (lack of) acceleration.

It makes for a decent 'Cushy Camping' headquarters,
say you want to go visit Bambi and Smokey the Bear but
you have tenderfoots tagging along, this way you can
bring some 'civilization with you.
