For the love of GAWD WTF is up lately

Torpedoes inbound. All hands brace for shock.

Good news: $190 labor for installing the gas tank on the 87. Too
Quick's in Tacoma is doing it. From what I have heard they have a
fairly good rep.

Bad news: Callaway's turbo is kaput! Dead, fooked, you name it... it
is... no more. Completely frozen up. No spinnie spinnie. I don't
know what kind it is at the moment. The head mechanic thinks it may
be a rayjay 25?!? I never heard of that one before but... then again
you can fill an encyclopedia with what I don't know about these cars.

Alot of emotional counseling was provided by Comrades Yeagley and
Bubb, thank you gentlemen.

Bad news part deux: Callaway's clutch stalling problem IS in fact a
bad thrust bearing, and for the bonus round on that one--maybe the
superwhammiedyne stroker crank is fooked as well. Will know more
tommorow...

And I drove to Boeing twice today for basically nothing but I had a
deadline so I drove the R32 like I stole it. I felt a little better
at a buck and some change.

I am glad I didn't sell it in the respect that I don't want the guy to
feel ripped off if he found this stuff and not me. Even if he does
have an asshole for a friend I am not out to rip anyone off. So that
brings me to the next question...

Depending on the collateral damage... I am looking at a grand to
straighten this out; $250 for thrust bearing repair and $600ish to
replace or rebuild the turbo. So do I invest a grand to sell it for
$3000? I will be taking a substantial loss. So thus torn I wandered
into the garage where it was on the rack and asked the Callaway for
some sign that it will be ok.

The Callaway's reply was less than reassuring. Fucking rust along the
bottom of the door, freshly blooming rust. It's very light and
completely fixable but alot more friggin work at this point. Damn
damn damn.

Not that I am bitter or anything... Depending on tommorow's news I
may just offer it up for like $2k as is, so it's not completely a
loss. I just don't have the time or I would have done my own gas
tank.

Otherwise I may be looking for a good 8v 1.8 short block. Depends
greatly on event's tommorow.

In other news I may be going to Coopersburg, Pa with this job. I
kinda dropped the hammer on the company to go east. It may land me in
the unemployment line, but at this point I don't care.
