Anything on a 1.7l motor worth scavenging?



Jeff, thanks for the reply and the link.  According to the text, a nice
1.8l turbo motor can be built using Audi forged pistons (5 cyl turbo)
and rods along with a 1.7l crank.  The text also states that the 1.7l
rods are the right length however; they are 'wimpy'.

If it's a later 1.7 found in '83's (and possibly the 82's) the crank can
be 
combined w/ some Audi turbo motor components in a JH block to build a
solid 
turbo motor.
