cam specs & info needed

   i bought a 1.6l cam that should help my '85 8v performance wise. i 
also recently located a cam that i think may be a g-grind. the thing is 
that the lobes on the 1.6l appear larger as they come to the point. they 
also measure a little longer than the unknown cam. what, exactly, should 
i be looking for in a replacement camshaft? anyway to id what the other 
cam is? thanx.
