OG's out of the woodwork

I joined the list in July of 1999 within a week or so of the purchase of my
first Scirocco, an '87 Tornado Red 16v "smokey". I'm currently on my 5th
Scirocco since that purchase. 

What was the list like back in 1999? There was Jonas the famoous typpistt,
Scott Williams with dreads, some guy with an '84 Jetta in NJ he called the
"uGLi", Josh Able & Dirk Schneider, Brett VanSomethingOrOther, Night Shadow,
T Berk & his famous sermons, Jim Jarrett, POTATO!, John Van Vuren, Daun
Yeagley, Brian Honnold, Kevin Collins, Andre Bjoekheim, Shannon Fenton, "16v
Jason" Camissa, Dan Brideau, Neil Tovsen, Shawn Meze, Chris DeLong, Kevin
Collins, Peter, Rich Deede, Jean-Claude, Paul Maione, Ken Buck, etc.

We were all a little bit more excited about our cars back then. 120+ posts a
day was the norm!

I've been a regular since October '99, 2 days after I bought an '84 8v. 
  Sold it a while back, now I have my '81 and my '88.

The Days of Jonas were entertaining.  Man, he'd get pissed off, and it was
even harder to read what he was writing when he was ranting!
