The thing to note is they compared datalogs of the "incident" with his previous laps to assist in coming to the decision.
I'd think that would be a better indicator than just watching the in car camera, but even then it looked pretty fishy to me.
As far as Kimi, if he has any luck it's bad luck.
Next year will be interesting despite how this year turns out. Alonso will be at McLaren, Kimi may be at Ferrari, no telling if Schumacher will retire or still be at Ferrari. After the GPDA throws him off the board, he might throw in the towel on the whole thing! No idea who'll be at Renault. So, Kimi should have Ferrari reliability and Alonso will step into the crappy situation Kimi's living with now. It'll be interesting.
