Detour

So I had to take a detour due to construction today. I ended up taking a
wrong turn and was trying to get back to familiar territory when I came
across a sweet red '82 with the Zender Z400 widebody kit. It was sitting
outside a body shop full of Audi, Mercedes and VW cars. I stopped to find
the owner, and not only talked to him, but the man who built the car. 2.0L
16V with Euro intake and many other upgrades. Apparently it was featured in
European Car magazine's September 1990 or '91 issue.

The guy also had a white streched bunny limo with ragtop. He said some
business used a picture of the bunny without his permission a few years ago
for an ad in European car. The bunny limo is showing it's age with several
cracks in the bodywork and worn out interior. The ragtop is barely there.
The owner said he's pretty much given up on it and doesn't plan on doing
anything with it.

The Scirocco is a DD and could use some touch-up body work in places, but
otherwise in great shape. I told them about The List and he seemed
interested. The guys at the shop got a kick out of seeing my stock 16V.
One of the guys had said, "so that's what it's supposed to look like."

And that's all I have to say about that.
