my fuel line dilemma. you vote

ok got my fuel resevoir/filter box for handing on the tank by the fuel pump. The situation is this.

Rubber hoses look good around the tank. The hose to the accumulator looks good, but the hose patch from the accumulator to the fuel line leading to the front fuel filter is kinked. It's a braided line and per the Potterman they were normally all metal fuel line up to the front fuel filter. This on has a braided 1' foot of fuel line with rubber type hose inside going from accumulator to fuel line fitting approx 1' away.

My question for voting is this. I've tried to get the fittings loose at the accumulator and the connection on the line. I will try this again this weekend as I would like to keep the accumulator and replace the crappy line infront of it. If I am unsuccessful at removing the fittings and line my options are.
1. cut the line from the fuel pump to accumulator ($55 hose if replaced later) by pass the accumulator and take it straight to the fuel line running forward. (if I do this what type hose should I use? How much pressure there?)
2. put the resevoir box in. put everything back together and hope the kinked line holds.
3.???

I've got to get this thing (Herbie) out of my friends garage this weekend. He's a Chevy and Plymouth man and he finds it offensive to have a foreign car sitting in his garage and it violates his 3 day rule. 8-)

Thanks for the votes and input.
