The perfect combination

My 16V has finally gotten so irritating I just couldn't drive it anymore. It's got more squeaks and rattles and like an idiot I didn't rotate my tires so the rears got badly cupped and when I rotated them to the front they not only howled at speed but when going slow it's like driving on a cobblestone street. The wheels on this car (Rotas=crap!) are going in the dumpster, so I was looking at wheels and tires for a car that I don't want to spend a dime on.
Then there are the tires on my 84. They're Dunlop FM901's with about a 2000 miles on them (two trips to Cincy! ;^). Their predecessor was the W-10 which was a good tire, but I think these suck. They don't stick and they squeal like a pre-teen girl at the slightest hint of any G's. Plus they're 205/45X16 and they're really just too big for a Scirocco. They make the 84 look like it's on stilts. So, I was trying to figure out what to do with these crap tires, but was mostly resigned to removing them and selling them for whatever.
They're mounted on virtually brand new BBS RX's which are about $1000 or just about the value of the 16V!

So, last night I just said eff it. Might as well use up the crap tires on the crap car. Hate the thought of the nice wheels on the crap car and the crap Rotas on my cream puff. But it seems like the best economic solution. Anyway, what a transformation! The tires may not be very good but they're round and they're quiet (going down the highway) and at least I can stand to drive the car. It even rattles and squeaks less ;^).

Besides the 84 turbo won't hit the street again till it's time for Cincy so it's not like it needs any wheels anyway!

Mr. Motivation, ehhh?
