The scirocco is a good green house, also the seals in the air box are probably dried up allowing additional air coming into the the box raising the temperature at the evaporator. A good possibility is the vacuum pod in the cowl area maybe leaking and not shutting the exterior door flap, or the vacuum selector maybe going bad. If that flap is not closing, the compressor may cycle every 30 seconds or sometime even less. As for the low and high pressure switches being valved I can't recall.
