New Scirocco for 2007

<snip Chris>
That thing is hot and if it's half the car they claim I am going to trade
two scirocco's and an R32 for one!!!
<end snip>

I think they've done a good job of advancing the exterior design of the
Scirocco. While it doesn't have any real Scirocco cues (other than the 2
door, rounded hatch), it is definitely a descendant of the Corrado, which
was definitely a descendent of the MkII, which takes us back to the Mk1.
Unfortunately, visual cues aside, its specs set it up to be another numb,
bloated, nose heavy design that I can only assume will be poorly supported
by the local dealers and will have quality issues, if my recent experiences
with an '02 GTI are any indication. We can only hope that Porsche control
of our once fine marque will reset priorities
(http://www.autoblog.com/2006/01/21/vw-chairman-ferdinand-pi-ch-out-porsche-
execs-in-at-trouble). If not, I'd highly recommend a new Subaru if you want
an enjoyable, driver oriented experience in a reasonably priced car. Don't
get me wrong, I love the look, feel, and drive of my Scirocco. But the
current crop of VWs, even the highly regarded R32, doesn't do it for me.
