Trans repair

Definitely, especially if it's '83 and later.

Pay special attention to the 5th gear adjustment.

It's not fun, to lose a keeper at 80MPH...
It happened to me ~45 minutes from CINCY.

Subject: SPAM-LOW: Trans repair

If it's not broke fix it anyway. After draining the transmission oil in my
new/used ACN transmission I discovered some stuff it the oil which I thought
must be gold .It was.(Well it's going to take lots of gold to repair). The
oil was very black and sludgie so a disassembly was in order.Fortunately
things looked pretty good on the inside.Pinion bearings and carrier bearings
seemed to be the worst. The gears were okay at least not to many big chunks
went thru them.So a couple of bearings and scyncro brass should get things
operating again.
It probably could have run that trans for another 50k before any problems.
But I never would be happy untill I looked at the inside.
HELL!! I can fix a couple of more things before Cincy.
