On a similar note, in 2003 I went to a presentation by Pioneer of their
current navigation systems and they previewed a system that was very much
still in an alpha version. Pioneer went out and took pictures from every
direction of something like the 10,000 busiest intersections in the USA and
they use these pictures with arrow overlays to show you where you should be
going from your point of view.
