What amount of Powder Coat?

So the silicone powder I have found that says it will handle 1000 degrees and says it is for use on grills, furnaces and engines is no good? (www.caswellplating.com) It is cheap, so I'll likely be beligerant and try it anyway. I think the headers on my Dad's cars stay a lot cooler, actually, so he'll use it if I don't like it. I can blast it myself, so it won't cost much to redo it.

I guess the ceramic coating is done by chrome shops?

1lb per trans is a good estimate to get me started. Thanks.
