Rarest VW? The 1975 SP2

it is definetly rare here in the US, but doesn't seem so rare where it comes
from and prices seem to be all over the place.

>From the history section:

"The SP was probably the first car that was built using other VW components
to keep the costs low. Prof. Leiding was arguably the first employing a
platform strategy. For instance the front-axle is quite similar to the
beetle, the chassis is a bit modified type 3 chassis. Altogether 11123 units
were built from the SP1 and SP2."

This site has more technical information and drawings of the floor pan and
engine assembly. Basically like it says, a modified 411/412 engine & chasis
set up.

And get lynched in the process. HA

probably fit any 4cyl in the back. I would assume it has the bug front
suspension. Odd that the pictures show everything but the engine and
mechanicals.
