Working in the heat!

Well I worked on a VW, just not the Scirocco.  On Michelle's Jetta.  She was complaining about a gagging smell from the exhuast that was making her not want to drive it.  

Well my sunday consisited of taking off the EGR pipe, and the intake manifold for cleaning.  WOW.  I hate the EPA for the dumb things they require on vehicles nowadays.  If you're familiar with the tdi alh series engines, you'd know that the egr and crankcase ventilation system work together to give the engine a clogged artery.

So because of that I spent most of the day removing the intake and cleaning the whole system out.  I hate this system.

But power has been restored to the Jetta, and hopefully fuel milage as well.

The Scirocco sits without it's engine and tranny for now until I get the money to collect a few more parts to make it roadworthy again.  I miss it.
