Home is behind the wheel of a Scirocco

I've been pretty quiet on the list for some time now. Work has kept me very
busy and my scirocco got hungry and ate a wheel bearing about 2 months ago.
Due to work, I couldn't get to the wheel bearing issue and then my wife
found a steal on a 92' cabby so she picked it up and gave it to me (she has
her own 89' cabby). So, for the last two months I've either been driving
out 01' Jetta VR or the 92' cabby. Today I finally got a chance to address
the wheel bearing.

Took me some time to do the bearing as it's one of the few things I haven't
done before, but thanks to my handy 12ton press, it wasn't too bad of an
ordeal. Got everything back together, fired her up, putted out to the dual
lane highway near my house and pushed the pedal. Sweet jesus I had
forgotten what it was like to have 16 valves of pure power. I hate to admit
it, but the VR Jetta just doesn't have anything on the rocco (well save for
about 1000lbs). A quick 10mile drive reminded me of why I feel in love with
this car in the first place. I felt perfectly at home behind the wheel in
my snug leather seats.

So now I have the bug in my ass to get back to working on the 2L 16v I have
sitting in the garage that just wants to move into it's new home. So that
is my tale of victory for the day. I think tomorrow I'll give the rocco and
the cabby's a bath and make em' all purdy.
