more clutch crap

Did you check to make sure the clutch cable wasn't broken first?  Or 
the area near the firewall
that the clutch pedal mechanism "pushes" against isn't ripped?  The 
second is less likely,
but the first one (broken cable) I've experienced several 
times...sometimes not even in
cars that were mine. :)
