Scirocco Weight

When I lived in Massweiler, Germany I had a yard full of apple trees.
One year, I filled my German spec 1979 Scirocco GTI with apples.  Some apples were in boxes. When I ran out of boxes, I poured apples into every nook and cranny up under the seats and up to the bottom of the windows. Performance sucked at that weight.

Then, I drove it to the local Brennerei (distillery) where they weighed the Scirocco loaded (loaded weight was 1592k) and empty then gave me a case of Apfelschnapps in trade for the difference.  Performance improved.

I can't remember the empty weight but, do you think that was a good deal or should I have selected the Apfelsaft? 

Can anyone recommend a Brennerei in the Atlanta area?

I'm 121 pounds over the weight posted by Foxx. Jan is 150 pounds lighter.
WTF? Extreme scale inaccuracy?

BTW: it was $8 cash to get weighed, $9 for credit card.

Anyone know how much they would charge to weigh in a Scirocco? Just how
accurate are these things? Do they weigh you in to the pound?

I've checked out the website but there are no prices listed. While I'm sure
they are accurate for 20,000 to 80,000 pound trucks, but will this thing be
accurate for a 2,0xx pound car? If +/- 2%, this is 40 pounds on my car, and
1,600 on an 80,000 pound 18 wheeler.

There is a scale ~15 miles from my place in a very urban area and one ~5
miles from a BBQ that I'm going to tomorrow in a fairly rural area. I=20

but at the weight stations on the interstate they "the man" won't let you.=
