debating how to resolve exhaust manifold leak (sniffer)

Well, as classic as can be, the sniffer tube is broken
off in the manifold at the attaching point and the
replacement tube is for an earlier dual manifold
(79-82) and wrong. So I am left with an annoying hole
in the manifold that will prevent passing inspection.

At this point, my best alternative seems to get
someone to weld a bolt or something in the existing
hole. Or, to have the mounting bolt (with a
through-port) somehow manhandled out of there (which I
question whether someone can get done now), then have
a larger bolt put back in place to block it off.

Either of those seem like the only way to get this
thing past inspection. As winter approaches and makes
apartment lot work unbearable, I am open to opinions.
It needs inspection soon to avoid towing dangers.

I have decided to do an Autotech header on it anyways
in the spring (ceramic-coated, of course). But I need
a stopgap solution while I fund that baby.

Opinions?
