I'd agree, I'm of the "stock plus one" camp, which puts 17s on my daily (
A4 platform, stock was 16s) and 14s on my Roccs, so far only 13s on the
MkI, but eventually 14s. I could see 15s on a MkII, but not much more. But
see what looks you get if you go shopping for new 14" aftermarket rims.
It's fun, they look at you like you're an alien. So what profile tire can
you put on 17" to maintain outside diameter, like 30 series? Performance
tire options are more limited in 14s, but I like the look.
