Cop question

I had this issue with a cop that pulled me over one day. (about 4 years ago,
blew the doors @ 60mph in a curve off the doors of a local sherrif...

He said my color did not match the car...

I asked him back is the VIN, license plate and registration where the
correct ones?

He started telling me I was asking for trouble if I did not tone my voice
(got to love Sunnyvale backyard Texas Sheriff at 630am)

I told him: the car got repainted.

Moral: some do, some don't if the numbers match, but I know if your numbers
don't match and the plates don't either, they can nab you for: vehicular
theft, no insurance (some states that is worst in some cases).

Worst case scenario, which cops thing he broke into an international car
theft ring and you will be spending numerous hours being interrogated....

Tow the damn thing.

Kinda sad that when you have a legitimate, innocent question, you fear your
law enforcement so
much you have to try to be anonymous. Why isn't that public access
information? Or is it?
