Cop question

They have the technology but they don't seem to use it all the time.

I was pulled over in my 94 passat with an expired tag and the cop asked mw what kind of car it was.

If the cop has to ask, he shouldn't be able to write you the ticket.

Maybe that's the reason VW put larger badges on the newer ones.

I'm pretty sure they can see color, make, model, etc. The computers
in their cars are pretty sophisticated these days. I looked into this
a little bit when i've moved my cars around the country in the past
because I've used tags from other cars. One of the people I talked to
said he got nailed speeding once and the cop did have access to the
information that the tags were for a silver infiniti even though he
was driving with them on a black one (he'd just bought it - talke his
way out of it) or something along those lines. I think it happened in
Georgia. I'm assuming you have a similar reason in mind? if they're
legit tags, at least you'll keep yourself from drawing attention, but
if you get nailed with the wrong tags, that could get ugly.

You know what would be funny - to call the sheriff's department from a
payphone and just ask them outright :)
