The critical alignments are the TDC notch on the flywheel to the
pointer in the bellhousing and the cam gear dot on the top of the
timing belt's rear cover (or the valve cover gasket surface)  The
intermediate shaft timing is not necessary to be dead on, as you take
up that adjustment with ignition timing.
