Dan Snow's Story and Pics

Ok, by now Dan Snow should be in Cincy with his Diesel converted rocco.
However, the trip wasn't smooth. For those of you at cincy, you have
prollie heard the tale, those of you stuck at home like me, here's the deal.

Dan made it from Tampa to my house in NW Georgia in great time. He crashed
here for the night and then in the morning we got him ready to go and ired
up the oil burner. About the second time Dan tapped the throttle we heard
what sounded like the exhaust rattling. He revved it a time or two more
then got out and looked at the muffler while I stuck my hend under the front
of the car. I saw a small lake of oil underneath and we promptly shur the
car off. After wiping down the engine bay and pusing the car back we found
about 2 quarts of oil on my driveway and what appeared to be a blown oil
filter gasket. Fun stuff. A tripp to Advanced Auto netted us a new filter,
oil filter wrench (the one I had wasn't big enough) more oil and two bags of
oil dry (kitty litter).

A short time later we were all set to give it another try. Another start of
the engine a few revs and another oil shower. To shorten things up a bit,
we basicly tightened the living shit out of the filter and ended up at a
point where there was only a rare drip but we couldn't find where it was
coming from. This however was good enough for Dan (after some coin tosses,
salt over the sholder and an animal or two were sacrficed) and he headed on
for Cincy. For those interested, here is a link to the pics I took. I
didn't get any of the raw oil spill, at that point we wern't even thinking
about the camera.

However, what the breaks down to is the real reason this list is F'ing
great. People that would have never met any other way have come together
under a common sickness and are able to help eatchother when it counts.
Listers helping listers is what it's all about.

Enjoy, (I know we had a lot of fun)
