MK2 question:  The needle bearing at the lower end of my steering column
keeps falling out.  There is a little plastickish washer that slides up
below it, but it doesn't keep it in place.  What is supposed to keep this
washer and bearing in place?  Has this washer just deteriorated?

On Mk1s, I have used a large hose clamp with great success.  I assume you
could use one here as well?
