HVAC Controller

In my experience, these little distributors tend to get very stiff for lack
of lubrication. Course if you then force them you can break them.
All I can say is they are easy to take apart and generally cleaning them up
and putting a little light grease between the rubber vacuum passages and the
plastic face will make them operate like new.
Note the location of all the vacuum hoses to the distributor and WRITE IT
DOWN!
Some of the hose routing schematics I've seen (like the one in ETKA) are
incorrect.

It's worth noting that the actuators that move the little levers on the
various air routing panels can also fail. You can test these by applying
vacuum directly.
