Feeler: Might be Parting out 86 Scirocco 2.0L 16V

Hey guys...

been lurkin around for the past couple of months and i havent progressed anything on my car at all ..

Parts are hard to find and then whatever you find, does not really end up with that i really want to.

The other nite i was talkin to a couple of friends and I Might part out the rocco and get a kit car.

The reason being is that i talked to a couple of ppl and the government has a couple of loopholes on kit cars that in some cases it bypasses most of compliance rules that a factory car has and that allows for the kit car to be lots of fun and the nice part is that i get to assemble it all.. just like a giant jig-saw puzzle.

I chose the Ultima GTR as my kit car. Not only because it super fast (faster than a McLaren F1LM) but also got the looks and theres also the unique factor there :)

Also for the drivetrain it uses a widely spread engine from chevy and a porche 5 spd thansmission.

looked at what i have invested into my "drag" engine and that almost yeld half the output of what an beefed up 350, LS1 or a Northstar would output.

I have already have sold the engine and made my initial 25% deposit, and i now I am in the 12 week waiting period for a Black GTR rolling Chassy (upgraded to FIA Spec cage, intrax coil overs, control arms, Hubs and uprights, complete braking system, fuel tanks, cooling system, wheels and the wing) I figgure i work my ass of anyway at lest this way i have something to show for it :)

As far as the rocco goes... if i dont find a buyer in the next 10 weeks its gonna be parted out to make room for the ultima.

Its been fun guys, roccos still rule but its they are a bit slow for me ;P

i will be still lurking around in the background for the next couple of months.
