Re: Question on Crank

If 'someone' ran a car a few thousand freeway miles and the PP bolts had backed out until they ran up against the back of the Pressure Plate itself, AND on disassembly it was discovered that the bolts had 'ovaled' the bolt holes so the the threads were only present on one side- would the crank itself still be salvageable?

Technically, you could restore the crank (ref. Jim Jarrett's signature). You could even do it
successfully provdided you had the crank out and drilled, helicoiled, etc.

Realistically, even I'm not cheap enough to salvage *that*. It's going to prove easier (and FAR
safer) to just replace it and have a nice paperweight to tell stories about. You can replace a
crank with the engine in the car. Won't be pretty, but certainly do-able.
