OT: Best Buy

I can understand the philosophical aspects of this. I commend this
guy for standing up for what he believes in. What I disagree with is
that he seemed to shoot himself in the foot. Maybe he was in a hurry
to get pick his child up from day care. Or in a hurry to get back to
his job. Or in a hurry to smoke some dope with friends, he doesn't
say. But if it's something along the lines of the first two then I
don't think his actions match his intentions and it generally bothers
me when people act this way. His actions likely caused the rest of
the people waiting in line to wait longer. It sounds to me like the
ordeal this caused the guy took more time than it would have for him
to wait in line ... so whatever his mission was at the time I assume
it failed. If his mission was to pick up his kid, shame on him! If
his mission was to get to a party, more power to him ... I just hope
he didn't try to make up the time on the roads. So perhaps I was
ranting a little OT of the OT, because it wasn't directly related to
Best Buy policies. The legal aspects of all of this are news to me.
I had no idea that there was a legal grey area for them checking
receipts.

matt.
