VW has stated you can run up to a whole 5% B.D. and not void your warranty.  They are inching up with the percentages, as testing is still underway on the larger percentages.  You may very well be able to run pure BD in any Diesel,  I have seen a few A2s around here with no problems for several thousand miles.  VW does not appear to be convinced just yet.  Perhaps VW will only endorse a certain brand of fry juice, and that they can only get it from us, kind of like the TDi oil at present...  *rolleyes*
