Ahhh. the pain of success :)

Instead of working on the turbo for my 84, which I apparently never want to get done, I devoted a
little effort to my nephew's "junkyard" turbo.
Stock JH, Volvo CIS, Megaspark.
Ever since I put the Megaspark in the engine would never run cleanly between 2000-3500 at part
throttle. Going down the highway with his super long gears was just agony with the engine bucking
and stumbling.
A little time with an oscilliscope and I had a hunch that the Megaspark was fine, but maybe it was
the distributor Hall sensor.
Swapped in another distributor and whalla!! Not a miss to be found!
You know, there is a hell of a lot to be said for an elcheapo turbo installation. This car hauls
ass!
OTOH, it has manual steering. I just don't get it. What does the extra effort (noticable at speed,
at least to me) buy in terms of feedback over power steering?
Off to weld up the turbo exhaust manifold for my 84. Maybe, just maybe, ready for Cincy.
