help w/ power steering leak

noticed low ps fluid the other day. wasn't too concerned, filled it back up. 
today smoke from the pass compartment, leak looked like it was coming from 
the pass side under the boot on the steering rack. anyone have any ideas on 
this? i'm guessing there's probably a bad seal under there, but i haven't 
really mucked around much with it before. thanks,
