chronic intermediate shaft seal failure



I thought they renamed it the Boomerang for obvious reasons.
 
But, when they do workout the many virus in years to come, were buying one.

If you can move that shaft up or down more than a mouse wisker, then yeah I think the bearings are indeed worn. And that is bad news, as the only way to replace them is by removing the engine...

Upon further inspection, it does appear to be leaking from where the seal contacts the shaft. I've also noticed there is bit of play (wiggle) in the intermediate shaft. Have the bearings gone bad causing it to leak at the seal?
