OT jetta or passat motors?

I agree/ disagree with Dan. There are recalls and issues, but the real problem is getting the dealerships to fix the recalls and issues. I don't plan on getting rid of my gti until death do us part. It's a good DD, but at the same time there was alot of newer technology in the 00-02's which vw just threw in without thinking. 
 
Toureg is a really good example. Should have been acalled the "Boomerang" instead.

Koabi recently got a late 90s TDI and seems very happy with it. Personally, I would get a mk3 over a mk4 because they have less issues and don't look so piggy. Depending on your diesel fuel prices, a TDI could make you really happy when it comes to fuel costs.
