car still wont start ... whats wrong?!



Take a look at the distributor and notice that there is an adjustment on the 
distributor itself.  Notice that if you loosen the 2 mounting bolts the 
distributor can be rotated back and forth around an inch.  Now if you just replaced 
the cap and rotor then this setting should not have changed and should not 
make a difference, but If you put in a new distributor too then you might have to 
rotate it back and forth until you find the spot where it will start.

Now with that being said look at your cap from the driver's side of the car.  
Spark plug wire #1 should be plugged into the upper left point, #2 upper 
right, #3 lower left, #4 lower right, assuming your rotor is in the right place.  
If it doesn't at least pop, then I would flip the rotor around.

P.S.  With all that cranking your engine is might flooded too.  You might 
want to pull the plugs and let it air out if you think it is flooded.
