Clutch slipping :(



Yes there is a kit to prevent this from happening.  It is referred to as
a "Bolt Kit". I know Ron Pieper of the list does them for a fee (not
free).  You have to tear the tranny all the way down.  I bought one from
Kraftswerks that had that already done and the other tranny I have not
yet installed is a 4K built by Ron.  Maybe some one on the list knows
where you can get it done in your area.

On the subject of SMS...is there a repair or kit  that can be purchased 
to retrofit the tranny before it actually happens. I have one of these 
suspect transmissions (out of my old 83 Rabbit GTi) and would like to 
use it on the Scirocco. I would hate to drop it in and then find a 
puddle of gear oil in a couple of months. better to fix it BEFORE 
something happens.
