  GPS is *FAR* to inaccurate to do this type of test! Trust me, it can
  be >5% inaccurate at times in calculating average speed. TSD RoadRally

  I'm surprised nobody has mentioned GPS yet. Granted, the feds turned
  selective availablity back on after 9/11, but its still gotta be
  pretty damn accurate when it comes to speed.
