pressure senders
Oil switches may be less than ten bucks, but the oil pressure
sender/switch combo is a far sight more than that from the dealer the last
time I checked. The 5 bar unit was over $100CDN last time I priced it at
the dealer, compared to maybe $60CDN at a shop that carries VDO. I
couldn't imagine going anywhere but the dealer for the switches, because
you're right - you get the peice of mind of a factory part.
The VDO part numbers I have for the dual guage/switch senders are:
0-80 PSI (5 BAR) with 7 psi warning contact, M10x1 VDO#360 006. (warning
contact is low pressure switch - can be installed at head)
0-150 PSI (10 BAR) with 29.6 psi warning contact, M10X1 VDO#360 033.
(warning contact is high pressure switch - must be installed at oil filter
flange.)
