Autotech 16V Sport Cams and Adjustable Timing Gear?

I have a pair of Autotech 16V Sport Cams and a 16V 2L Head that I am puttingthem into.  I am unsure about whether I should spend the money to put in an Adjustable Timing Gear.  Is an Adjustable Timing Gear that useful?  What benefits would I get out of it and how does it affect the bosch ignition systems which adjusts the timing based on conditions.

Autotech has a nice adjustable one that lock into place with a pin and can't slip.  I know TT has one as well and there are others.  I kind of like the Autotech design.  Any opinions?
