Somebody at Waterfest had done this to a MK4 Golf, I think R32 IIRC?  It was one of the vendors.  Might be able to find information on it on the waterfest web site?

Just for a couple of different options...

Don't the Deloreans do this?  It wouldn't be too far off track...
